Du’aa when it Rains

Rain, rain, go away
Come again some other day
We want to go out and play
Come again some other day

Did you grow up singing that song? We did!

What if we looked at rain from another perspective. What if we taught our kids and students all the amazing things we can do when it rains.

Yes, it is gloomy! Yes, our plans might change! And yes, we cannot go outside and play!

BUT did you know that when it rains it is one of the best times to make du’aa! That’s right! Pull out your du’aa booklet or list and take a moment to make du’aa.

Why not build this habit with your child or students, start a tradition, when it rains we pause, make du’aa for anything and everything, then go on to what we were doing.

We have created a printable that you can use at home or in the classroom. You can add it to your du’aa collection, hang it on your fridge, use it when teaching about the four seasons, or post it on your bulletin board for students to reference.

It is a simple du’aa that we say when it rains, “Oh Allah, (bring) beneficial rain.” A simple du’aa that we can train our kids to say and remember Allah SWT in every moment, especially when it rains.

Narrated Sahel Ibn Sa’ad (RA), that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
‘Two will not be rejected, Supplication when the Adhan (call of prayer) is being called, and at the time of the rain‘.
[Al-Hakim 2: 114, and Abu Dawud #2540, ibn Majah]

Bismillah… here are the printables:
